La luz incide sobre la regi\u00f3n de base, generando portadores en ella. Esta carga de base lleva el transistor al estado de conducci\u00f3n. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Los\u00a0fototransistores son\u00a0m\u00e1s sensibles que\u00a0los\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000\" title=\"Fotodiodo\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fotodiodo\">fotodiodo<\/a>s por el efecto de <a style=\"color: #000000\" title=\"Ganancia (electr\u00f3nica)\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ganancia_(electr%C3%B3nica)\">ganancia<\/a> propio del transistor,\u00a0pero tambi\u00e9n mas lento.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Un foto transistor es igual a un transistor com\u00fan, con la diferencia que el primero puede trabajar de 2 formas:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Como transistor normal con la corriente de base Ib (modo com\u00fan).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Como fototransistor, cuando la luz que incide en este elemento hace las veces de corriente de base.
